Biographical history

Successful pastoralist and agriculturist he acquired the estate of Apslawn on the East coast of Tasmania. For many years he was a Councillor and Warden of the Municipality of Swansea and represented the Glamorgan electorate from 1881 till 1893 in the House of Assembly.
